Job Summary:
The person filling this position will be responsible for assisting the General Counsel for the Transmission Networks Sector with the delivery of legal support services for the Business Unit. Candidate will actively partner with internal client groups, including the Business Units Sales, Program Management, Proposals, and Finance Teams to achieve legal-focused objectives to mitigate risk to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, licenses, and other legal instruments, with special emphasis on technology-related sales, joint development, and software licensing agreements.
Works closely with Business Unit General Counsel and Business Unit management to help achieve business objectives while complying with applicable laws, regulations, and internal corporate policies.
Supervise the work of outside legal counsel.
Interpret and administer company policies that directly affect the Business Unit and the particular transaction.
Review and edit customer quotes and proposal responses to confirm that they are properly prepared and conform to company policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Develop, draft, and maintain approved modules/templates for customer quotes, proposal responses, data sheets and product manuals.
Review and edit datasheets, product manuals and white papers.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree
5-7 years of progressive contract management experience.
Experience in negotiating with high-tech companies in technology-related transactions.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
The ability to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Requires excellent organizational skills
The ability to deal with a high volume of work and pressure.
Must be self-directed, results oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be a team player that functions well in cross-functional team settings.
International commercial transaction experience is a plus.
Familiarity with finance and accounting issues and revenue recognition issues preferred
The ability to control costs of outside law firms within the designated budget.
