JOB SUMMARY

The Deputy Director provides programmatic, fiscal management, and staff support for daily and long-range activities. This position will advise and assist the Atlanta Coordinating Responsible Authority (ACoRA) Director in carrying out all matters necessary for the effective operation of the ACoRA program.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



-Provide support and input in program/process design and development

-Provide coordination with Knowledge Management department on development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of data management software system.

-Support Director and program managers in preparation and coordination of annual program planning and budgeting process

-Serve as Director’s liaison with staff and managers as directed

-Attend meetings with or on behalf of Director as assigned to capture information, assure thorough follow through, and provide thorough debrief to Director or others

-Provide pre-meeting/event briefings and logistical support for both internal and external events; may occasionally accompany Director to off-site and out-of-town events or travel as his/her representative

-Solicit, integrate and summarize information, opinions and feedback from all levels of the organization as directed

-Participate in organization-wide projects that require additional support in initial researching, planning, and feasibility analysis

-Serve as primary liaison and point of contact with City of Atlanta and Georgia Department of Community Affairs staff responsible for Renewal Community / Empowerment Zone program.

-Coordinate, gather, edit and submit items on behalf of ACoRA for Enterprise Community Partners board meeting materials

-Facilitate ACoRA staff committees/task forces designated to work on administrative, policy, and procedural matters affecting program resources and administrative services relevant to the ACoRA Program

-Through subordinate administrative staff, establish and ensure functioning systems to create productive work environment for local office staff





QUALIFICATIONS



Undergraduate degree with ten (10) or more years of related experience; graduate degree preferred



Demonstrated ability to exercise superior judgment and leadership



Advanced written and oral communication skills with high attention to detail



Experience independently researching and organizing large volumes of information; synthesizing facts and opinions into a meaningful presentation; anticipating problems, questions and issues and responding appropriately



Clear evidence of aptitude for working with a large and diverse group of internal and external persons



Ability to build effective, collaborative working relationships that are dependent upon mutual trust, integrity, forthright expression of opinions, discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, and confidentiality



History of effectively working closely with senior executives, using the access with discretion



Demonstrated ability to succeed in fluid environment with frequent interruptions, numerous responsibilities, and competing priorities



Excellent word processing (WORD) and spreadsheet (Excel) skills
