Part-time Outreach Counselor

General Function: The Carl E. Sanders Family YMCA is seeking an organized, energetic and mission driven individual, who is dedicated to nurturing and improving today’s youth, while being a positive influence in the lives of the children within the community it serves. Under the direction of the Outreach Director, the Outreach Counselor will assist in the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of all Outreach programs to a diverse Buckhead community. Current Outreach programs include the Ragtime Seniors, Carl E. Sanders After school Enrichment Program, Counselors in Training (C.I.T), North Metro Program, Fairy Tales, Latin American Association (LAA) Mami Y Yo & Seniors Program, Breakfast Club and other programming as assigned by the Director of Outreach.
Responsibilities:
· To assist in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the following Teen Programs:
· Counselors in Training Camp
· Leaders Club
· Middle School Madness
· To assist in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the following programs: Ragtime Seniors, Carl E. Sanders After school Enrichment Program, Counselors in Training (C.I.T), North Metro Program, Y-Teens Club, Fairy Tales, Latin American Association (LAA) Mami Y Yo & Seniors Program, Breakfast Club, Character Development Club.
· To assist in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of new Outreach Programs in the Buckhead community.
· To assist in the coordination of community collaborations that will provide YMCA experiences for families in need.
· To effectively communicate both orally and in writing with members, program participants, volunteers and guests the role of the Outreach department in their community.
· To serve as an active member on the branch outreach platform.
· To play an active role in our annual Partner With Youth campaign.
· To work in conjunction with other departments and members to help develop and deliver regularly scheduled member/community special events and programs geared towards member retention and an overall improved membership experience.
· Drive, operate and maintain YMCA vehicles to transport participants to/from programs and special events.
· All other appropriate duties as assigned by the Outreach Director.
Requirements:
· Possess clean and valid GA driver’s license.
· Bi-Lingual in Spanish (preferred).
· Have or obtain a current first-aid & CPR certification with the first 30 days of hire.
· Ability to pass a criminal history & background check.
· Ability to effectively communicate with YMCA staff of all levels, the diverse Buckhead community and demonstrate an understanding of human relations/organizational skills.
· Ability to relate effectively to people of all cultural, social and economic segments of Buckhead and the surrounding communities.

The YMCA, as a whole, will continue to seek ways to help strengthen the family and provide a positive and rewarding experience for all. Through our Outreach Programming, positive YMCA experiences will continue to help the YMCA build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
