Key Responsibilities Include:
First line supervision of warehousing and/or light assembly operations have point-accountability for the safety, productivity, and quality-of-work of the associate work-force.
This job is primarily a "people-job", with the first-line supervisor having the key role in mentoring, developing, coaching and leading a world-class, safe, productive, quality-minded and satisfied work-force.
Areas supervised include traditional warehouse functions of receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping and on-going inventory control. Areas of supervision may also include light assembly and kitting operations.
Job Requirements:
Supervisory leadership experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment of at least 5 years is required.
2 or 4 year College Degree is preferred but not required.
Experience with 6-Sigma and Lean concepts is a strong "plus".
Computer skills with MS-Word and Excel is required as a key element of the job is monitoring and communicating safety, productivity and quality performance on an on-going basis to associates and Management.
Communication, coaching, mentoring capabilities are required. Of particular importance are listening skills as supervisors are expected to constantly listen and incorporate ideas from the associate workforce.
Requires standing and/or walking 8 to 10 hours per day and may require lifting up to 70 lbs.
