Firm Moves McFarland, Mc Sweeney and Dougherty Up Executive Ranks.
Opus South Corp., a full-service design build development firm promoted Martin McFarland to vice president of real estate, Joe McSweeney to senior director of real estate and Michael Dougherty to director of retail development.
With a 25-year real estate experience, McFarland will focus on new office retail and mixed-use projects through the Atlanta offices. Under McFarland’s management Opus recently broke ground at the Terraces at Suwanee Gateway in Suwanee, GA.
Prior to joining Opus South McFarland held positions with CB Richard Ellis, Trammell Crow Co. and LaSalle Partners. McSweeney joined Opus South in 2005 from Opus North and has 11 years of industry experience. McSweeney is responsible for development and leasing for Opus South’s industrial projects in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas.
McSweeney’s projects include Hartman Business Center and Royal 85 in Atlanta, and the new Couchville Pike Business Center in Nashville, TN. These projects include 3.1 million square feet of space completed or under construction, and will total 4.5 million square feet when fully developed. His career also includes tenures with Ashley Capital and Jones Lang LaSalle.
Dougherty joined Opus South in 2004 and has 11 years total industry experience, including former positions with Cypress Equities and the Kmart Corp. As director of retail development, Dougherty will focus on directing new retail development opportunities in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas. He is leading several successful projects including 350,000 square feet of retail development with The Terraces of Suwanee Gateway in Suwanee and 125,000 square feet of retail development with The Shoppes of Macon in Macon.
