Bankruptcy Specialist - Contract Assignment

Job Summary:
As a subject matter expert, the Bankruptcy Specialist will understand investor / insurer, company, state, government, and bankruptcy code guidelines and manage a portfolio of bankruptcy loans.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, prepare and review proof of claims, motions for relief and stipulate orders.
• Prepare claims and make recommendations.
• Read and interpret all legal documents-pleadings motions, dockets, loan documents etc, as well as borrower trustee, investor and attorney correspondence.
• Monitor and maintain accurate information on accounts, guide accounts through the default process, including execution of affidavits and the review and management of bankruptcy litigation matters.
• Ensure all actions comply with investor/insurer approved timeframes and procedures.
• Oversee relationship with network of attorneys.
• Ability to be accountable throughout each required task, high amounts of multi-tasking and prioritizing.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the functional areas, business processes as well as application functionality.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate would have significant Bankruptcy experience from a large national law firm.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent and experience with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of mortgage banking, familiarity with RESPA, FDCPA and federal and state laws related to Bankruptcy and foreclosure process.
• Ability to attend to detail, analyzing work outputs to Federal & State Bankruptcy Codes guidelines.
• Ability to balance and reconcile funds
• Decipher history and a good working knowledge of escrow accounts.
• Must have excellent problem solving and research skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Duties will include working with a borrowers file and completing a checklist of documentation needed to continue the process.
• Must understand how the process works
• Mortgage, Bankruptcy, Legal and Loan processing
