Bankruptcy Processing Specialist – Paralegal

Job Summary:
As a subject matter expert, the Bankruptcy Process Specialist will understand investor / insurer, company, state, government, bankruptcy code guidelines and assist with the processing of the loan portfolio efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:
• Processing bankruptcy matters
• Preparing and reviewing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy petitions
• Assisting in the preparation of court documents, pleadings, discovery, and general correspondence
• Preparing and filing response to motion and claims and supplemental fee application
• Electronic court filing (ECF) and service of pleadings, and generally facilitating the filing of documents with the US bankruptcy court
• Monitoring docket sheets
• Updating and maintaining legal database
• Research using Westlaw or Lexis Nexis

Requirement:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Certified Paralegal Preferred
• 5 plus years minimum experience as a bankruptcy paralegal
• Experience with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
• Best Case or Pro Law software experience is a plus.
• Must be acquainted with the current bankruptcy laws
• Understand Court Rules and have experience with E - Filing Process
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
